DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
FabLabs often rely on multiple machines, Raspberry Pi controllers, and RFID access systems that operate independently. Managing these devices across different locations and clients can quickly become complex and time-consuming. The challenge was to bring everything together into one centralized system while keeping each client’s data secure and their local hardware connected.
Together with Tijn Sandra and Jarne Baert, we designed Cloudify in Control as a centralized platform connecting FabLab machines, Raspberry Pi controllers, and RFID access systems. My role focused on UI/UX design and frontend development, translating the platform's complex infrastructure into a clear and intuitive dashboard. I also contributed to designing the database structure, helping define how clients, machines, access data, and local hardware would connect within the system.
The result is a centralized platform that simplifies the management of distributed FabLab hardware and client environments. The dashboard gives FabLab teams a clear overview of their machines and clients, while the connected architecture keeps local hardware and cloud data synchronized. By bringing these systems together, Cloudify in Control reduces the complexity of managing individual devices and allows FabLab teams to spend less time on infrastructure and more time supporting makers.
